Dorna Sports has announced yesterday that SHARK Helmets will be the title sponsor for the French Grand Prix for the next three years. The event, held at Le Mans in north west France, will therefore be named the “SHARK Helmets Grand Prix de France” from 2019 to 2021.
Founded in Marseille 30 years ago, SHARK Helmets has since grown to become one of the most respected helmet brands in the world, protecting multiple World Champions such as Jorge Lorenzo and Johann Zarco as well as a range of other riders including the Portuguese Miguel Oliveira, debuting this season at the highest step of the competition.
On the topic, SHARK Helmets’ CEO, Patrick Francois said, “Racing is our DNA: with nearly 70 world championship titles, SHARK Helmets has been relying on motorcycle racing to boost brand development ever since its creation. As a French brand strongly embedded in racing, we are very proud that our home event will be named the ‘SHARK Helmets Grand Prix de France’ for the next three years. This new challenge is very exciting for all our teams and we are looking forward to working closely with Dorna Sports to make this event a big success.”
As for Dorna Sports, Managing Director Pau Serracanta added, “We are thrilled to have SHARK Helmets on board as the title sponsor for the French Grand Prix.”
“Their values match those of MotoGP perfectly. Le Mans is always one of the busiest and most energetic venues of the season and it’s great news for both us and the event to see such a company take top billing for the next three seasons of their home Grand Prix.”
The 2019 SHARK Helmets Grand Prix de France would be raced at Le Mans Circuit between May 17 and 19.
