MotoGP Marc Marquez tests F1 car


Repsol Honda's MotoGP Team rider Marc Marquez followed the steps of Valentino Rossi and Jorge Lorenzo and stepped inside a Formula 1 car. This time, the event occurred at the Red Bull Ring in Spielberg, Austria yesterday were Toro Rosso F1 Team is doing a private test.

Marquez got behind the wheel of the F1 car under the attentive looks of the former-F1 racer Mark Webber, Red Bull motorsport advisor Helmut Marko and Mercedes non-executive chairman Niki Lauda that keep their attentions focused on the Spaniard's progress.

Before this maiden F1 test, Marquez had headed to Red Bull’s Milton Keynes Head Quarters for a seat fit as well as getting some time in the team’s racing simulator before the real deal.

In 1964, John Surtees became famous for being the only man in history to win the top class world titles on two and four-wheels categories when he clinched the F1 crown in Mexico.

Fellow bike ace Mike Hailwood made a splash in the Seventies before multiple MotoGP world champion Valentino Rossi enjoyed a string of tests for Ferrari between 2004 and 2010.

Jorge Lorenzo, meanwhile, tested Mercedes’ 2014 title-winning car at Silverstone in 2016.
