The CEO of Ducati Motor Holding SpA, Claudio Domenicali, has been appointed the new Chairman of the Motorcycle Sports Manufacturers’ Association (MSMA) for the next two years term, the MSMA Members’ decided in the General Meeting of the association, held at Jerez de la Frontera, Spain, during the Spanish Grand Prix.
This appointment put once more an Italian motorcycle manufacturer at the top of the manufacturers’ association, confirming the commitment that Ducati dedicates to the sport, and to the relevant synergies that all these activities generate for the development of new products and the involvement of its own community.
After the election, Domenicali said, "It is an honour to accept this role, both in person and in my capacity as CEO of Ducati Motor Holding," he said while thanking the assembly for the nomination. Further said, “Ducati now holds this position for the first time in twenty-seven years of MSMA activity. In facing up to this task, we are fully committed to making an important contribution to the further growth and professionalism of the sporting activities that see the participation of the world’s most important motorcycle manufacturers.”
To recall, the MSMA formerly known as GPMA, was established in 1992 to represent the interests of the manufacturers involved in racing during the meetings with the Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme (FIM) as well as the different promoters and the teams’ associations.
Domenicali succeeds in the post to Katsuhide Moriyama (Honda Motor Corporation).
